Peter Tzeng, a partner in the firm's International Litigation and Arbitration Department, has been named Co-Chair of the 2027 Annual Meeting of the American Society of International Law (ASIL), alongside Professors Jean Galbraith and Rebecca Hamilton.
The ASIL Annual Meeting is one of the largest annual conferences in the world on international law, drawing over 1,000 attendees from more than 100 countries to Washington, D.C. each year. ASIL is a nonprofit organization founded in 1906 and chartered by Congress in 1950.
As Co-Chair, Tzeng will co-lead the Annual Meeting Committee, composed of around 40 international lawyers from government, academia, and practice. The Committee will be responsible for the substantive program of the 2027 Annual Meeting, which will be held from April 14-16, 2027.
At Foley Hoag, Tzeng exclusively advises and represents sovereign States on matters of international law. He regularly litigates cases before the International Court of Justice, where he clerked for a former President of the Court prior to joining the firm. He also represents States in inter-State and investor-State arbitrations, and advises States in treaty negotiations and on matters before the United Nations and other international organizations.
