Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has promoted Singapore‑based arbitration specialist Francis Greenway to its global partnership, as part of the firm’s 2026 promotions.
Francis’s promotion will take effect on 1 May 2026 and reflects the continued importance of international arbitration to the firm’s disputes practice.
Francis is a dispute resolution lawyer specialising in cross‑border commercial disputes. He has worked extensively in the energy sector, advising on disputes relating to major upstream projects and supply chains for LNG, crude oil, gas and other commodities. His experience also includes disputes involving fraud and breach of warranty claims, as well as M&A, joint venture and shareholder disputes for both financial and strategic investors.
Francis regularly acts as counsel and advocate in international arbitration proceedings under all major institutional rules, including those of the ICC, SIAC, LCIA and HKIAC. He has also acted in domestic litigation proceedings in England & Wales and other jurisdictions, as well as in other forms of alternative dispute resolution, including expert determinations and mediations.
Co‑Head of the Global Arbitration Practice, Simon Chapman KC, comments:
“I am delighted to welcome Francis to the partnership. He is an excellent arbitration practitioner with strong experience in complex cross‑border disputes, particularly in the energy and commodities sectors. I congratulate Francis on his promotion and wish him every success in this next stage of his career at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer.”
