Washington, DC – Wiley is pleased to announce that Andrew Sigmon has joined the firm as a public policy advisor in its nationally recognized National Security Practice. A former Legislative Director on Capitol Hill and Legislative & Intergovernmental Affairs Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Sigmon brings significant experience advising clients on the federal policy, trade, and supply chain challenges shaping today's national security landscape.

"Andy has spent his career where trade policy, national security, and critical infrastructure intersect, which is exactly where many of our clients operate," said Hon. Nazak Nikakhtar, former Commerce Assistant Secretary for Industry & Analysis and chair of Wiley's National Security Practice. "His practical understanding of how policy is developed and implemented, and how it affects businesses in real time, will be a tremendous asset to clients navigating complex federal priorities."

Sigmon's career spans senior roles across Congress, the Executive branch, and the private sector. In private practice, he developed federal advocacy and trade strategies for defense, energy, and critical infrastructure clients across appropriations, authorizations, and regulatory priorities. Earlier, he served in Commerce's International Trade Administration and in the office of U.S. Representative Michael R. Turner, where he built a deep command of the legislative and regulatory processes that drive U.S. trade and national security policy.

"Andy has deep experience and has done this work from every angle – on the Hill, inside the agency, and alongside clients," said Timothy C. Brightbill, co-chair of Wiley's International Trade Practice. "His command of trade and tariff policy and his relationships across the federal government make him a strong addition to our team at a particularly consequential moment for U.S. trade and national security."

At Wiley, Sigmon will counsel clients on national security regulatory matters, supply chain risk, and the federal policy landscape shaping strategic competition. He will work alongside Wiley's National Security and International Trade teams to help clients in the defense, energy, and critical infrastructure sectors navigate a complex and rapidly evolving policy environment.

"Wiley has built one of the strongest national security and trade practices in the country, and I'm excited to contribute to that work," said Sigmon. "The depth of experience here, and the caliber of the clients we serve, made this an easy choice. I look forward to helping clients get ahead of the policy developments that matter most to their businesses."
