Ann O'Leary, former Co-Chair of Jenner & Block's Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation Practice, has joined OpenAI as Vice President of Global Policy.
Throughout her tenure at Jenner & Block, Ann established herself as a leading authority on complex government matters and policy litigation. Based in the firm's San Francisco office, she counseled clients on high-stakes regulatory and policy challenges at the intersection of law, government, and technology. Ann brought unique perspective to her practice, drawing on extensive experience in federal, state, and local government, including as Chief of Staff to California Governor Gavin Newsom, in the White House, in Congress, and at San Francisco's City Hall.
In her newly created role at OpenAI, Ann will lead global policy efforts for the artificial intelligence company.
"Ann is an exceptional lawyer and strategic advisor who seamlessly bridges the worlds of policy, government, and sophisticated legal practice," said Co-Managing Partners Ishan Bhabha and Randy Mehrberg. "Her deep government experience and counsel have been invaluable to our clients navigating complex regulatory and policy landscapes. We are proud that a client of the firm recognized Ann's extraordinary talents and look forward to her continued success at OpenAI."
