New York, N.Y. (December 3, 2025) – Wilmington Partner Rafael X. Zahralddin-Aravena, New York Partner Minyao Wang, and Los Angeles Partner Scott Lee were honored at the 17th Annual Turnaround Atlas Awards ceremony, held in New York City on September 23.
Mr. Zahralddin, Mr. Wang, and Mr. Lee received the Cross-Border Distressed M&A Deal of the Year (Small Markets) for the sale of Biolase to MegaGen Implant Co. Ltd. The firm's corporate team also received the Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year ($10MM to $25MM) award from The M&A Advisor. Lewis Brisbois is proud to be recognized by this independently governed awards group, which equates to achieving the "Gold Standard of Performance" standing in the industries. The assets of the Biolase bankruptcy estate were purchased in a vibrant section 363 sale and auction. The bankruptcy case and sale involved complex issues related to intellectual property, corporate finance, cross border transactions, and active and threatened litigation. Lewis Brisbois helped the successful buyer navigate these issues and worked in tandem with Republic of Korea counsel for the buyer, Yulchon LLC to achieve a favorable result for MegaGen.
Mr. Zahralddin is a member of the firm's Corporate, Bankruptcy, Complex Business & Commercial Litigation, Digital Asset, and Ukraine Conflict Response Practices. He is a skilled business lawyer and litigator with significant experience advising clients in corporate and commercial litigation, insolvency, distressed M&A, compliance, corporate law and entity formation, corporate governance, commercial transactions, cyber law, regulatory actions, and cross-border issues. He has over 25 years of experience in distressed sales, both in and outside of bankruptcy. He is resident in the Delaware office of the firm and is admitted in New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, with experience across multiple jurisdictions, included in cross border deals and cases. He is a member of the Global Network of Restructuring and Insolvency Professionals.
Mr. Wang is a member of the firm's Complex Business & Commercial Litigation, Bankruptcy & Insolvency, and China Practices. He specializes in bankruptcy and commercial matters. He has 15 years of experience at both the trial and appellate levels. Mr. Wang has achieved high-stakes victories in bench and jury trials, as well as arbitrations. His clients have included Fortune 500 companies, hedge funds, institutional investors, insurance companies, start-ups and high net-worth families in the United States. He has recovered, on behalf of his clients, billions of dollars from some of the largest banks, financial institutions, and auditing firms in the world. Mr. Wang regularly represents international clients and has been quoted extensively in the legal press about cross border legal issues. He is a member of the Global Network of Restructuring and Insolvency Professionals.
Mr. Lee serves as co-chair of Lewis Brisbois' Korean Business & Litigation and Lithium-Ion Battery Practices, and is a member of the firm's Partnership Committee and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. He is the founding member of the Korean Business Group which currently has a number of Korean American attorneys in multiple offices across the country. He has successfully handled numerous matters involving substantial sums and currently represents some of the largest companies from Korea with various matters in the U.S.
