Global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has won the International Growth Leader award at Law.com International's British Legal Awards 2025, which celebrate the best-in-class of the UK legal market, providing a benchmark for legal excellence.
This award encapsulates a transformative year for the firm, recognising the landmark combination between Herbert Smith Freehills and Kramer Levin in June 2025, along with the opening of a Luxembourg office and the addition of a 10-strong team in Germany. This year the firm has hired 23 lateral partners and continues to invest in its global network.
The firm was also recognised for Outstanding Collaboration for its work with LegalCORE, a cross-firm collaboration that aims to tackle the underrepresentation of ethnic minority groups in the UK legal sector.
Executive Partner, UK and EMEA, Jeremy Walden commented: "I'm very proud to see our firm's continuing investment and growth rewarded at this year's British Legal Awards. Our 'International Growth Leader' Award recognises the hard work of many hundreds of people from across our communities. We look forward to delivering further success for our landmark US combination, expansion in Germany and new team in Luxembourg. Many congratulations to all involved and our thanks to our clients for their continued trust and support."
This award follows the firm's recent recognition as 'US Impact Law Firm of the Year' at the The American Lawyer's Industry Awards 2025 – an award aimed at honouring a firm with a meaningful presence, through legal work in the US, demonstrated by client engagements and successes, professional headcount and business growth.
