Cox & Palmer is proud to congratulate our Chief Executive Officer and Partner, George L. Cooper, KC, on his appointment as the 10th Chancellor of Mount Allison University, effective January 1, 2026.
A Mount Allison alumnus, George's appointment recognizes his longstanding commitment to leadership, education, and community service across Atlantic Canada. His four-year term as Chancellor will continue a legacy of excellence that reflects both his professional accomplishments and his deep connection to the university.
"Mount Allison's tradition of academic excellence, close-knit community, and commitment to developing principled leaders is something I have always cherished," said George. "I am deeply honoured to be appointed Chancellor of Mount Allison University – a place that has played such a formative role in my life."
George graduated from Mount Allison in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) before earning his law degree from the University of New Brunswick and a Master of Laws from the University of Cambridge. Over his distinguished career, he has built a reputation as a respected legal and community leader, known for his integrity, mentorship, and dedication to service.
