The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is BC’s only post-secondary institute dedicated to public safety professions, providing applied education, training, and research to support police, corrections, court services, sheriffs, firefighters, paramedics, and other justice and public safety professionals. With over 30,000 students annually across six campuses, the Institute plays a critical role in equipping professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to foster safer communities and a more just society. Public safety is an emerging and increasingly complex issue in British Columbia, and Mark is passionate about contributing to JIBC’s mission to maintain and strengthen the highest standards of training in our province. The Board of Governors, which oversees the Institute’s operations, strategic direction, and alignment with its mandate, is a prestigious appointment recognizing both professional excellence and a commitment to advancing BC’s justice and public safety systems.
