RDJ advised South Coast Logistics, one of Ireland’s leading logistics providers, on its acquisition by Belgian multinational Katoen Natie, a global specialist in logistics and port operations.

South Coast Logistics is a family-owned Irish transport and logistics company founded in 1975, specializing in haulage, storage, and container services for industries like food, pharmaceuticals, and petrochemicals. Headquartered in Fermoy, Co. Cork, it operates a fleet of over 80 trucks and maintains facilities near Cork and Dublin ports.

Katoen Natie, based in Antwerp, operates in over 35 countries across industries such as petrochemicals, consumer goods, automotive, and specialty chemicals. It also holds a significant stake in waste management firm Indaver.

The acquisition is subject to Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) approval. In a statement, Katoen Natie said the deal allows it, and its daughter company, Indaver, to leverage South Coast Logistics' market reputation and expertise to solidify its footprint on the island.

The RDJ transaction team was led by Gillian Keating (Corporate and M&A) and John Cuddigan (Tax), and included Diarmaid Gavin, Arabella Carr and Elena Vassileva (Corporate and M&A), Sarahjane O’Shea (Tax), Brendan Cunningham and Áine O’Brien (Banking), Martin O’Callaghan (Real Estate), Shane O’Connor (Construction), and Jennifer Cashman and Isabelle Mannix (Employment).
