HOUSTON (September 10, 2025) – Holland & Knight has bolstered its Healthcare Transactions Team with the addition of Michelle Huntsman as a partner in Houston. Ms. Huntsman was previously a senior associate with King & Spalding.
Ms. Huntsman's addition to the Firm's healthcare practice follows that of Partners Juliet McBride and Christina McNamara, who both recently joined in Houston.
"Michelle is an incredibly talented transactional lawyer, and her experience in the hospital and surgery center industry fits hand in glove with Holland & Knight's strategic focus on healthcare," said Brent Hill, leader of Holland & Knight's Healthcare Section. "Michelle's comprehensive understanding of the business and legal needs of hospitals, surgery centers and other healthcare providers makes her a perfect fit for our national healthcare practice."
Ms. Huntsman's practice focuses on the representation of healthcare industry clients in mergers and acquisitions and other transactional matters. She has significant experience in healthcare due diligence and regulatory and reimbursement implications of changes of ownership. She also advises healthcare providers regarding Medicare and Medicaid issues, licensing requirements, and federal and state regulatory matters, including civil monetary penalty investigations, Medicare and Medicaid self-disclosures and compliance with the 60-day overpayment rule.
"Holland & Knight's sustained expansion in Texas – a state with a rapidly changing healthcare regulatory environment – combined with its national reputation for healthcare law, makes it an ideal firm for the next phase of my career," Ms. Huntsman said. "I look forward to reuniting with my former colleagues as well as collaborating with new colleagues as we find innovative solutions to meet the needs of our clients."
Ms. Huntsman received a J.D. degree from Seton Hall University School of Law and a B.S. degree from the University of Maryland. She is admitted to practice law in Texas and New Jersey.
