Washington, DC – Alpha Media has completed its acquisition by Connoisseur Media. Wiley served as regulatory counsel to Alpha Media in the transaction.
As part of the transaction, which closed on September 4, Connoisseur acquired Alpha's 200 broadcast radio stations serving 44 markets across the United States. As part of the transaction, Connoisseur acquired Alpha's complex stock and assumed 100% of its equity, as well as its existing debt.
On August 13, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted final approval of the merger, clearing the way for the transaction to close. Wiley advised Alpha Media throughout the review process.
The Wiley team representing Alpha was led by Telecom, Media & Technology (TMT) Practice co-chair Kathleen A. Kirby, with partners Jessica N. Rosenthal and Craig Sperling, as well as Corporate Practice chair Daniel B. Hassett. Kirby and the TMT Practice have extensive experience advising on complex telecommunications and broadcasting transactions, including advising in Nexstar's $6.2 billion acquisition of Tegna.
