Global law firm K&L Gates has assisted German film equipment maker ARRI, a global player in the motion picture and live entertainment industries, with the sale of its entertainment lighting subsidiary Clay Paky S.r.l. to EK Inc., an entertainment lighting innovator with roots in China. This marks the beginning of a new strategic chapter for Claypaky, which now officially joins the EK Inc. portfolio.

This transaction allows ARRI to sharpen its focus on its core business, while Claypaky benefits from the strong industrial foundation, development, and supply chain capabilities of EK, Inc. Claypaky will retain its headquarters and core R&D and operations functions in Italy, ensuring continuity and local value creation.

The Corporate deal team was led by partners Giampaolo Salsi (Milan), Dr. Martina Ortner (Munich), and Bruno Vascellari (Milan) with support from Milan associate Lorenzo Fidanza.

K&L Gates previously advised  ARRI on the acquisition of Claypaky in 2023.
