Stacey C. Tyler—a real estate finance attorney whose practice has spanned all 50 states—has joined Ballard Spahr's national Finance Department, Real Estate Finance Group, and New York office as of counsel, firm Chair Peter Michaud announced today.
"A deal leader like Stacey is a solid addition to our robust bench," said Joseph W. Weill, who co-leads the Real Estate Finance Group alongside Siobhan O'Donnell Sachs. "Expanding our capabilities in real estate finance is a strategic priority for the firm, and we couldn't be more pleased that she has joined the team."
Stacey handles all aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, development, dispositions, financing, hospitality, joint ventures, leasing, and public-private partnership arrangements. Her clients range from institutional lenders and private equity funds to technology startups. She manages all stages of the transaction process, including drafting and negotiating operative documents, analyzing due diligence, collaborating on risk management strategies, and liaising with third-party service providers.
As a member of Ballard Spahr's Real Estate Finance Group, Stacey has joined a team of more than 85 lawyers who advise clients in structuring, documenting, closing, servicing, restructuring, and enforcing real estate debt and equity transactions.
"Ballard is known throughout the country for the quality of its finance work and for the industry knowledge it brings to each transaction," Stacey said. "I'm excited to be part of the firm's growth in New York and to be working with the national Finance Department to provide comprehensive service to clients."
On January 1, 2025, Ballard Spahr combined with Lane Powell, gaining more than 150 new attorneys and offices in Anchorage, Portland, and Seattle. The firm has been ranked in the highest tier nationally for banking and finance by Best Lawyers and was named a leading practice by Chambers USA.
