Lewis Silkin today announces that Catherine Hammerson-Jones has joined the firm as a partner in London.

Bringing extensive expertise in commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution, Catherine acts for a diverse range of clients, including financial corporations, insolvency practitioners and high net worth individuals on high value, complex and multi-jurisdictional and offshore matters.

Catherine is a specialist in financial and banking litigation, while her broader practice includes issues ranging from contractual disputes, fraud and investigations and professional negligence, to insolvency-related claims, Quincecare claims and asset recovery.

Catherine had a successful banking career for over a decade, working across stockbroking, corporate banking, leveraged buyouts and corporate finance. She covered a wide range of investment products, including both equity and debt capital markets, as well as fund management. Catherine then re-trained as a barrister before becoming a solicitor. This breadth of experience means she is exceptionally well-placed to advise clients on investment and banking related disputes.

Catherine joins Lewis Silkin's Dispute Resolution practice, which now comprises 18 partners, and a total of 34 lawyers advising clients on complex commercial disputes ranging from class action and group litigation to insolvency, international arbitrations and High Court litigation and IP disputes.

Mark Lim, Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution at Lewis Silkin, commented:

"Catherine has an exceptional track record and reputation, and we are delighted to welcome her to Lewis Silkin. Catherine's capital markets and financial litigation experience adds considerable bench strength to our rapidly growing dispute resolution practice. I have no doubt that her deep sector specialism will prove to be a very valuable addition to the team."

Catherine Hammerson-Jones, Partner at Lewis Silkin, commented:

"It's a pleasure to be joining Mark and the disputes team at Lewis Silkin. The firm's thriving disputes offering presents an excellent platform to continue to grow my own practice and a culture which aligns fully with my values and professional goals. I look forward to working closely with my new colleagues to help our clients navigate and resolve their most challenging issues."
