The firm has appointed three new partners specialising in Corporate M&A, Tax and International law. Alexander Ehlert in Corporate M&A, Dinis Tracana in Tax and Rúben Brigolas in International.

Alexander Ehlert

Was previously a senior counsel in the Corporate M&A practice and has over 15 years of experience working on M&A transactions for a wide range of clients, including venture capital funds in investment and divestment transactions. He also advises clients, particularly those in the industrial and technology sectors, on corporate, contractual and regulatory matters. He also has experience in corporate finance, corporate governance, joint venture processes and corporate reorganisations. In the venture capital area, he has advised on the incorporation, registration and monitoring of venture capital funds and their management entities.

Dinis Tracana

Has been promoted from managing associate to partner in the Tax practice. He has over 15 years of experience consulting on inbound and outbound international tax structuring, corporate reorganisations, and mergers and acquisitions. He regularly advises clients in the financial and energy sectors, investment funds, and the real estate industry.

Rúben Brigolas

Has been promoted to partner in PLMJ's International practice. He has almost 20 years of experience of working with Angolan law in relation to M&A transactions, joint ventures, project and investment management, financing, and commercial and regulatory contracts. He has advised international groups on projects and transactions involving multiple jurisdictions, particularly in Africa. He provides ongoing advice and assistance with project and investment management in Angola across various sectors, particularly oil and gas, mining, finance, and retail.

Bruno Ferreira, managing partner at PLMJ, said: "The appointment of new partners is one of the most special moments for a law firm. There is a particular sense of pride when the partnership grows with lawyers who chose this firm early on in their careers to develop professionally and personally. PLMJ offers its lawyers the opportunity to work on some of the most interesting cases in the country and gain significant international exposure. However, we believe that personal experience is equally important in shaping PLMJ lawyers, equipping them with a critical spirit, a great deal of freedom, strategic thinking and a permanent ethical compass. Alexander, Dinis and Rúben are three great examples of this. We welcome them all, and hope that they will continue to contribute their talent, dedication and personalities to building the future, and that they will always remain curious and driven.
