Travers Smith LLP has announced the appointment of Will Normand as Head of Asset Management, effective 16 June.
Will took on the role as Acting Head of Asset Management this time last year and succeeds Emily Clark who will remain at the firm as a Senior Consultant following her retirement from the partnership. She will continue to work with Will on various areas to grow the practice.
Will has been a funds partner at Travers Smith since 2015, having joined the firm in 2012. He has a broad investment funds practice, with particular expertise advising on products designed to diversify a manager's investor base away from just institutional clients, including structuring Part II UCI and ELTIF funds specifically targeted at wealth managers and private banks. Will is actively involved in industry initiatives focused on expanding access to private assets for non-professional investors and advises clients on potential LTAF launches.
Travers Smith's Asset Management practice is one of the firm's core areas of focus and is made up of 20 partners and four Senior Consultants, with the firm's most recent partner promotion cohort elevating this to 25 partners, effective 1 July.
Will Normand commented:
"I am delighted to be taking over as Head of Asset Management. Our practice continues to go from strength-to-strength, providing first in class counsel to clients in an increasingly complex commercial landscape. I look forward to working with the team to continue to build on this growing success."
Edmund Reed, Managing Partner commented:
"Congratulations to Will on this much-deserved appointment. I am confident that he will excel in leading the Asset Management team going forward, which remains a key focus for the firm's ongoing growth. I'd also like to thank Emily for her leadership and dedication which have played a key role in ensuring the team is well-equipped to thrive in the future."
