This session will review employers' legal requirements during a worksite visit, including establishing procedures for initial interactions with government officials during a worksite visit, the role of counsel, and ensuring that identity and work eligibility Form I-9s and associated documentation are in proper order for inspection. The session will offer insights on how to interact with government officials, practice pointers for requesting relevant information during the visit from the government to craft a comprehensive response post-visit, and tips for minimizing exposure and liabilities. It will also address how to handle government requests for interviews with employees and decision makers.
