Bass Berry & Sims is proud to announce that Cindy Reisz has been selected as a 2025 Fellow of the American Health Law Association (AHLA), one of the organization’s most prestigious recognitions. This honor celebrates Cindy’s significant contributions to the field of health law and her leadership within the AHLA, including her service as the organization’s president during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cindy is one of only three AHLA Fellows selected this year. The full list can be found here.

“Cindy’s selection as an AHLA Fellow is a testament to her exemplary commitment to the health law profession,” said Angela Humphreys, chair of the Healthcare Practice Group and co-chair of the Healthcare Private Equity Team at Bass Berry & Sims. “Her leadership both here at the firm and within AHLA, particularly during her presidency of the organization amid the pandemic, demonstrates her exceptional ability to guide organizations through complex challenges while advancing important initiatives and staying current on the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.”

Cindy Reisz

She brings valuable insight to private equity firms and their portfolio companies, drawing on her experience in both the healthcare and corporate sectors.

Cindy’s practice includes representation of acute care and behavioral health systems, physician practices and their affiliated management companies primarily in oncology, behavioral health, dermatology, anesthesiology, primary care and medical spa specialties, and value-based care organizations. Her involvement with industry-related organizations, in addition to her work with AHLA, and her experience in applying fraud and abuse, physician self-referral, corporate practice of medicine, and other federal and state laws has allowed her to provide valuable guidance to her clients. Cindy joined AHLA in 1995 and has been an integral member for nearly three decades. Her service includes serving on the AHLA Board of Directors and as president from 2021-2022. During her presidency, she navigated the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic while contributing significantly to the development of the AHLA’s 2023-2025 Strategic Plan. She also championed AHLA’s efforts to address racial and other inequities in healthcare.

Prior to her presidency, Cindy served as vice chair and chair of the Physician Organizations Practice Group and chaired the Planning Committee for the Physician Organizations Law Institute.
