With the 24th edition of The Heart of the Matter, we celebrate an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to pro bono service. In 2024, Jenner & Block exceeded $100 million in pro bono for the first time, surpassing our five-year goal of $250 million in free legal services 18 months ahead of schedule. Four years into our 5-year, $250 million commitment, we have already contributed more than $305 million in pro bono services.

This milestone is more than just a number. It’s a reflection of our unwavering belief that pro bono matters. Each case is an opportunity to challenge systemic injustices, protect fundamental rights, and empower underserved communities. Our lawyers have consistently contributed more than 75,000 pro bono hours each year, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.

While we take pride in this achievement, it is the work itself—the service we provide and the lives we impact—that drives us. We remain committed to standing firm in advancing justice and supporting communities in need, because pro bono service matters.
