Bass, Berry & Sims is proud to share that Greg Young, an attorney in our Environmental practice, has been named the 2025 Water Conservationist of the Year by the Tennessee Wildlife Federation. This prestigious honor recognizes Greg's deep and lasting contributions to protecting Tennessee's water resources and shaping impactful conservation policy across the state.

Greg rejoined Bass, Berry & Sims earlier this year after nearly six years of leading the Bureau of Environment at the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC). During his tenure at TDEC, Greg played a pivotal role in advancing statewide water conservation initiatives, including helping to develop the framework for Governor Lee's 2024 Duck River Executive Order—a landmark policy protecting one of Tennessee's most critical water sources.
