Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (PVLA) has named Ballard Spahr one of two Law Firms of the Year and Real Estate Partner Sara A. McCormick one of two Volunteer Attorneys of the Year.
The PVLA Awards recognize organizations and individuals that go above and beyond to support and protect the artists and organizations that shape the Philadelphia region’s arts and culture scene.
Ballard Spahr has worked with PVLA for over 30 years and has provided more than 15,000 hours of pro bono service to clients referred by the organization. Sara, whom PVLA called “a champion for the arts in real estate law and pro bono service,” is a longtime volunteer with the organization. She was honored in part for her work helping the board of directors of Quintessence Theatre Group purchase the historic Sedgwick Theater in Philadelphia’s Mount Airy neighborhood, a project on which she worked with fellow Real Estate Partner Ashley E.
