Thursday 20 February 2025 | 09:00am - 01:00pm (UK Time)

Our rural disputes specialists will discuss the various ways in which disputes can be resolved, including court action and forms of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, arbitration and expert determination.

We will also look at the roles of various courts and tribunals, including the Court of Session, Sheriff Court, Lands Tribunal for Scotland, Scottish Land Court and the First Tier Tribunal.

We will finish by looking at the role of an expert witness. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness a mock cross examination by Shepherd and Wedderburn conducted by expert witness, Tom Oates, which will be followed by a panel discussion where attendees can put their questions to our rural disputes experts. This engaging and interactive session will provide attendees with invaluable insight into the role of advocates and expert witnesses in a court setting.
