We are delighted to host our Rural Disputes Conference, which will focus on resolving disputes affecting clients living, working and operating in the rural sector.
Our rural disputes specialists will discuss the various ways in which disputes can be resolved, including court action and forms of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, arbitration and expert determination.
We will also look at the roles of various courts and tribunals, including the Court of Session, Sheriff Court, Lands Tribunal for Scotland, Scottish Land Court and the First Tier Tribunal.
We will finish by looking at the role of an expert witness. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness a mock cross examination by Shepherd and Wedderburn of an expert witness which will be followed by a panel discussion where attendees can put their questions to our rural disputes experts. This engaging and interactive session will provide attendees with invaluable insight into the role of advocates and expert witnesses in a court setting.

9:30am - Our speakers will set the scene for our ShepWedd Estate dispute and look at the different ways of resolving disputes – including court action, mediation and arbitration. They will then discuss the different courts and tribunals and the appropriateness of each forum for a particular dispute.

11:00am - Our speakers will be joined by an expert witness for a mock cross examination followed by an interactive panel discussion.
