Infrastructure law experts at Shepherd and Wedderburn have helped the Government of Jersey secure the appointment of Bouygues UK as Main Works Delivery Partner for the new Overdale Acute Hospital.
The construction of the Acute Hospital is the key component of Jersey's wider New Healthcare Facilities Programme project, with a total budget for Phase 1 of £710 million.
The formal appointment of Bouygues UK as the selected contractor represents a major milestone in the delivery of the new hospital, which will form the centrepiece of modern healthcare provision on the island.
Shepherd and Wedderburn acted as main external legal adviser to the Government of Jersey on the procurement programme, advising on the structuring of the contractual framework, the contractor selection process and, in the final stage, full contract negotiation with Bouygues UK.

The Overdale Acute Hospital is part of Jersey's long-term strategy to replace outdated facilities and deliver modern, sustainable healthcare designed to meet the needs of a growing and ageing population.
The project sits within the Government's broader multi-site healthcare model, which integrates acute, outpatient, mental health and community care services.
