PLMJ advised Quinta do Lago S.A. on the acquisition of the Conrad Algarve Hotel from Flitptrel V, a company managed by ECS and owned by Davidson Kempner Capital Management. This marks the largest single-asset transaction in the history of Portugal's hotel sector.
The Conrad Algarve Hotel is a 5-star resort located in Almancil. It features 154 suites, 6 restaurants and bars, a luxury spa, and 82 tourist apartments and villas.
The multidisciplinary PLMJ team was led by Carmen Baptista Rosa, a partner in the Real Estate and Tourism practice and head of the Faro office. She was joined by Teresa Madeira Afonso, co-head of the Real Estate and Tourism practice, and Bruno Ferreira, from the Banking and Finance and Capital Markets practices. The team also included Luís Miguel Vasconcelos, a managing associate in Banking and Finance and Capital Markets, Rita Calafate from the Insurance team, and Gabriela Mendonça Santos from the Litigation team, both senior associates at the Faro office.
