In a recent interview with Law Times, Mark Giavedoni, newly appointed leader of Gowling WLG's Canadian Real Estate Group, discussed key trends in Ontario real estate law and the broader national housing crisis.
“There is an attempt to try and solve a very difficult problem because it impacts so many different sectors, from construction to those who invest in housing,” Mark said regarding the national housing crisis.
He also emphasized the importance of cooperation between different levels of government and the private sector in addressing the housing shortage more effectively. “It would probably be a lot better if everybody tried to do it in a coordinated fashion because it exacerbates the problem otherwise.”
Mark went on to highlight that the logistics sector is experiencing a significant uptick in real estate sales, driven in part by increased demand for warehousing and distributions facilities to support e-commerce growth.
