Our Professional Liability Group has been handling claims involving Insurance Brokers & Agent E&O and Real Estate Brokers & Agents E&O for many years. We are excited to announce we have now formally added these two practice areas as official subgroups of the Professional Liability Practice.
The Insurance Brokers & Agents E&O subgroup focuses on the representation of individual agents and brokers as well as large managing general agents and brokers involved in the procurement of specialty and surplus lines of insurance coverage throughout the world. Our attorneys represent agents in brokers in a wide variety of claims, including alleged failure to obtain requested insurance; alleged misrepresentation of policy terms or the nature, scope, or extent of coverage; and alleged failure to disclose material information on insurance applications, among others.
Chicago Partner George Manos was appointed Chair of the Insurance Brokers & Agents E&O subgroup, and Newark Partner Thomas Rantas was appointed Vice Chair.
The Real Estate Agents & Brokers E&O subgroup represents individual real estate brokers and agents, as well as organizations, in an array of claims that arise during all phases of residential and commercial real estate transactions. These include professional negligence; breach of fiduciary duty; negligent misrepresentation; and fraud based on alleged faulty preparation of sales documents, among others.
Ms. Holm and Mr. Slome were appointed Chairs of the subgroup,
and Philadelphia Partner Carmalena Del Pizzo, Boston Partner Amanda Mathieu, and Seattle Partner Kathleen A. Nelson were appointed Vice
Chairs.
