LEED designated Shearman & Sterling’s headquarters at 599 Lexington Avenue as an LEEDv4 Gold in recognition for having fulfilled a host of requirements involving indoor environmental quality, materials and resources, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere and access to transit.
The LEED certification provides a global framework for the construction of buildings that offer critical environmental, social and governance benefits.
Shearman & Sterling’s redesigned headquarters encompasses 340,000-square-feet of office space featuring high-performance technologies, design-balance, natural patterns, a customizable light and shade system to align with the body’s circadian rhythms and bright textural art. The office is designed to allow the firm’s employees and clients feel both comfortable and respected by creating a home-away-from-home atmosphere in the workplace.
In 2023, the firm’s headquarters was recognized as aGold Winnerat the 2022 International Interior Design Awards which honors achievement in outstanding interior architecture that uses innovative design ideas, techniques and furnishings.
