4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Mayflower Hotel, Washington, DC
In 2008, the world was shocked by the revelation of Bernie Madoff's massive Ponzi scheme. Now, 15 years later, Buchanan and FTI Consulting are joining forces to present “15 Years Beyond Madoff: A Forward-Looking Forum on the Financial Fraud Landscape.” This thought-provoking series will explore the enduring legacy of Madoff's scheme and its profound implications on today's financial landscape. Through expert discussions and engaging roundtable conversations, we will delve deep into the world of financial fraud, its intersection with regulation and the law, and its relevance in the era of cryptocurrency. Each event in this series stands on its own and will focus on a different aspect of the Ponzi scheme and its subsequent consequences as well as relevent industry trends.
During the third event of the series, Mark Kornfeld, shareholder in the firm's Litigation section will sit down with FTI's Matt Greenblatt and Pat Pericak, and Karta Legal's Lourdes Slater for a special program “As Madoff’s Ponzi Scheme Turns 15, a Look at the Financial Fraud Landscape in 2023: The Connective Tissue Between Madoff and Crypto Chaos.”
Not in Washington, DC? We will also be holding an event in Pittsburgh on November 14, and an event in Philadelphia on November 15.
