New York, N.Y. (August 11, 2023) – New York Partner and National Chair of Lewis Brisbois' Entertainment, Media & Sports Practice Steven C. Beer will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award in the Global Impact and Leadership Excellence category, presented on August 25 at the Hip Hop Legend awards ceremony at the Alhambra Ballroom in Harlem. This event will cap an exciting summer of hip hop's 50th anniversary celebrations around New York City, and honor a musical genre that has transcended its local roots to become a truly global phenomenon.
Mr. Beer will be presented a citation by New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and will be recognized alongside community leaders, government officials, entrepreneurs, and legendary artists such as Q-Tip, Big Daddy Kane, Eric B & Rakim, KRS-One, Fat Joe, and more.
Mr. Beer represents industry-leading film, television, and music companies, and has acted as counsel to numerous award-winning writers, directors, producers, and multi-platinum musical artists. He serves as an executive trustee to the City Parks Foundation and is co-chair of the Arts Committee responsible for SummerStage, NYC's largest free performing arts festival. Mr. Beer is also co-host of Lewis Brisbois' entertainment law podcast, "Periscope," which features timely discussions with industry leaders and up-and-coming artists.
