Mallesons Stephen Jaques has announced the appointment of two new partners, Wayne McMaster and Robert Cooper, to the firm’s intellectual property practice in Melbourne.

Mallesons Stephen Jaques has announced the appointment of two new partners, Wayne McMaster and Robert Cooper, to the firm’s intellectual property practice in Melbourne.

Joining them at Mallesons will be senior associates Duncan Bucknell and Shyama Jayaswal, patents counsel Dr Carolyn Rolls and, senior patents legal executive Debra Barnes.

In announcing the appointments, Tony D’Aloisio, Chief Executive Partner, Mallesons said: "This announcement signals a significant boost to our intellectual property practice in Melbourne. Wayne, Robert and their specialist team have outstanding patent skills, an excellent reputation for innovative work in intellectual property and, deep experience in the Pharmaceuticals and Bioscience industries. We are very pleased that they have agreed to join us."

The new team will boost Mallesons’ Pharmaceutical and Bioscience capability and strengthen the firm’s national patents and intellectual property practice.

The appointments are effective 8 September.
