Mallesons Stephen Jaques has won the Communication Award at the annual Legal IT Awards, held recently during the Legal IT Forum in Scotland.

The international Legal IT Awards attract representatives from leading UK, US and Australian law firms, as well as in-house legal departments and chambers. The Awards have become firmly established as the benchmark of excellence for law firms’ IT projects and knowledge management initiatives.

The Communication Award recognises quality of service and cost with regard to mobile access to a law firm’s network; home working arrangements; cost savings achieved through intelligent routings or use of IP telephony; and innovative use of video conferencing.

With a theme of "Everything, Anywhere, Anytime", Mallesons emerged as the winner in this important category highlighting the growing need for mobility in technology and acknowledging the firm’s foresight and leadership in implementing a remote, working environment.

The increasing communications needs of Mallesons’ people in servicing clients in Australia, Hong Kong and London, and their own requirements for flexibility has meant that the firm’s communications infrastructure, processes and support resources need to be robust to service clients "anywhere, anytime".

Tony D’Aloisio, chief executive partner of Mallesons Stephen Jaques said: "This award is recognition of our innovation and dedication in bringing to fruition technology-enabled solutions that add value to the legal services we deliver to clients."
