On April 30, 2014, the Mexican government submitted to Mexico´s Congress, a bill for implementing the energy reform. This will finally allow private enterprises to participate in the energy sector.

The bill consisted of 21 laws, of which eight are new laws and 13 will be amendments to existing laws.

The bill will be sent to congressional committees for analysis.

Other key subjects presented this morning to the Congress include the creation of a National Agency for the Protection of the Environment.
