The Head of Ogier's Investment Funds team in Asia, Partner Nicholas Plowman has addressed two high profile webinars in the last ten days offering his insight into the Cayman Private Funds Law and the opportunities for fund managers in Asia.

On 9 June Nick addressed the Hong Kong Trustees' Association Webinar, attended by about 150 professionals, and in late May he spoke to an audience of 130 asset managers and business partners for the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HKVCA) webinar about the new regulatory regime for the Cayman Islands close-ended funds.

On both occasions Nick presented an examination of the new regime and regulatory framework introduced by the Cayman authorities earlier this year, an analysis of the vehicles which are in and outside the scope of the new regime, practical implications and an overview of the current operating conditions. The HKVCA webinar was followed by a discussion moderated by the Vice Chair of the HKVCA, John Levack, and a well-attended question and answer session concluded the Hong Kong Trustees association event.
