Slovak News - July 97 - The Act On Protection Against The Excessive Imports

Parliament approved the Act on protection against excessive imports. This states the conditions that must be met for protection regulations to be introduced in order to protect the domestic sector.

The protection regulations would include the introduction of additional import duties or quotas on the maximum volume of foreign commodities that could be imported.

A request to the Ministry of Economy for introducing protection rules may made by a producer or other legal or physical person who carries on business in Slovakia.
