Companies and individuals who are required to submit their 2020 tax estimate and pay the associated first instalment of temporary tax by 31 July 2020 now have the option of doing so either via JCC Smart, or, via the Tax Department's new Tax Gateway service.

Taxpayers may now access the Tax Gateway service by using the same user name and password with which they access the TAXISnet system. Taxpayers who are not yet registered for TAXISnet will need to visit the Tax Department and apply for registration.

Once logged in to the Tax Gateway, taxpayers are able to view their account and:

  • Gain information about debts owed and payments made to the department – including GHS payments;
  • Register self-assessment tax, temporary taxes and withholding taxes; and
  • Make electronic payments through internet banking.
