Veirano Advogados in Rio de Janeiro have helped US renewables company SunEdison purchase a 16 per cent stake in Brazilian power company Renova from local counterpart Light Energia for US$250 million.

SunEdison, which is the world’s largest renewables company by installed generative capacity, has snapped up assets from Renova in the past.
