The well-known antivirus company Avast Software announced that they are buying their rival AVG Technologies for just under an incredible CZK 32 billion (approx. USD 1.3 billion). Avast shall pay USD 25 in cash for each share.

Globally, more than 400 million users use Avast or AVG products and following the acquisition, Avast will rank among the top five global players in the field. The transaction is expected to close sometime in September/October 2016.
