On 10 December, the Perth Federal Magistrates Court found that Etchguard had misled a franchisee with promises of a substantial turnover. The franchisee had financed his business by selling a property he had in Burswood. That meant that the franchisee was entitled to compensation for having missed out of increases in property values since selling the property - that was the value of his initial investment plus $150,000.
