On September 19, the Access to Public Information Agency
(Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública)
submitted to Congress a bill to update Argentina's personal data
privacy legislation (source document in Spanish). The bill proposed
restrictions on the use of personal data and additional mechanisms
for companies to safeguard sensitive material, including
appointment of a data protection officer and expanded individual
rights.
