The 2nd Cyprus Open Data Hackathon will take place on 15-16 September 2018 in Limassol at ARIS | A Really Inspiring Space. The Hackathon is co-organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre of Deloitte, the Public Administration and Personnel Department (PAPD) of the Ministry of Finance and Hack Cyprus.
The competition challenges computer programmers, analysts, designers, communication and marketing experts, students, as well as everyone else who is passionate about programming to develop an innovative application using Public Open Data. Participants may use data from the National Open Data Portal, as well as data found in any other governmental webpage.
The Open Data Hackathon aims to empower dynamic individuals to create products and services by using Public Open Data, to cultivate youth entrepreneurship, to encourage the creation of innovative applications with high added value and to strengthen the entrepreneurial culture and entrepreneurship ecosystem of Cyprus.
