WASHINGTON (September 18, 2023) – Holland & Knight has strengthened its leading Tax Credit Syndication Group with the addition of Elizabeth "Liz" Young as a tax partner in its Washington, D.C., office. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, she was a partner at Nixon Peabody LLP.

With an impressive career spanning two decades, Ms. Young has built a reputation as a thoughtful, practical-minded advisor in the structuring of complex community development transactions and projects across the U.S. involving the federal low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC), New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC), historic rehabilitation tax credits (HTC) and renewable energy tax credits. She also has extensive experience representing clients on state and federal tax matters, such as corporate and pass-through entity structuring, family-owned business structuring and transactional tax planning, including real estate transactions and tax controversy.

"Liz's deep understanding of tax law and experience in providing counsel for transactions involving popular tax credits, coupled with her passion for community development finance, will help our Tax Credit Syndication Group maintain its industry-leading position," said Ted Hickey, practice group leader of Holland & Knight's Tax Credit Syndication Group. "She is a well-known and respected attorney in the tax credit community, and her versatility will help us to deepen our institutional client relationships while attracting new clients as well."

"I'm excited to join Holland & Knight's highly regarded Tax Credit Syndication Group," said Ms. Young. "The firm's reputation and commitment to their clients are notable within the tax credit community. It is the perfect place for me to continue the growth of my practice."

Ms. Young earned a J.D. degree from Suffolk University Law School, an LL.M. degree from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. degree from the University of Richmond.
