Toronto (September 5, 2023) – Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) welcomes Melissa Ghislanzoni as counsel in our investment management group, adding to the group's deep knowledge and expertise on industry and regulatory matters.
In her most recent role, Melissa acted as general counsel to an influential industry association that serves over 300 asset management firms, collectively managing over $3 billion in assets. Melissa is also a well-known speaker on matters such as derivatives law, the importance of succession planning and compliance best practices.
Melissa brings her broad experience in emerging and ongoing regulatory initiatives and knowledge of the operational aspects of the investment management industry to assist clients to understand how regulatory developments will impact their firms and to successfully implement required changes to their businesses.

In addition to her legal practice, Melissa is actively involved in community support initiatives, including founding an annual toiletry drive for National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women that has been active since 2007.
