An amendment to the Labour Code was passed by the Parliament. Amongst other issues, the amendment stipulates required conditions for significant redundancies and also increases basic holidays from 3 to 4 weeks. The law (with the exception of increased vacation time, which will come into effect on 1 January 1997) will come into effect on 1 September 1996.
