Ed Imperatore spoke to Global Investigations Review about a former FIFA official convicted in a widespread corruption scheme being released from prison over five years into his nine-year sentence due to ongoing health issues and good behavior.

According to Ed, it's "extremely unusual" for someone to be on supervised release while out of the country. He added that the court may have used the compassionate release statute in order to let him out of prison "while perhaps overlooking" the requirement for supervision.
