Very cool story in the New York Times yesterday.  Twice as much battery storage capacity, half the cost.  The Harvard researchers who developed the battery are using a carbon-based molecule instead of metal (commonly used and more costly) to hold the electric charge.  While cost is still a challenge, this battery is headed in the right direction.
