In an article published by several related manufacturing trade publications, Marshall Gerstein Partner Ryan Schermerhorn and Patent Agent Topher Zahn describe the benefits of additive manufacturing – also known as 3D printing – in clean tech innovation.
"Recently, options previously available to expedite applications related to clean technologies were discontinued or indefinitely suspended, including the U.S. Patent Office's (USPTO)Climate Change Mitigation Pilot Programand aSemiconductor Technology Pilot Program(created to support the CHIPS Act)," the authors explain. "However, patent applicants can still seek expedited review using traditional, technology-agnostic options still in force at the USPTO, including by filingfor the Track One Prioritized Examination Programand/or through thePatent Prosecution Highway (PPH) program."
