The COVID-19 crisis continues to disproportionately affect vulnerable populations across the globe. As a result, Mayer Brown has been working with its partner organizations to mobilize our resources to help the many individuals, nonprofits and small businesses hurt by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Among other pro bono efforts related to the COVID-19 crisis, Mayer Brown lawyers in the United States are working with the Fosun Foundation to help with legal issues related to the donation of medical protective equipment to healthcare providers in the New York and San Francisco Bay areas. We are providing legal assistance to the nonprofit organization Perfect Strangers, which provides delivery of groceries and other essential items to the most vulnerable members of our communities affected by COVID-19. And we are collaborating with SchoolHouse Connection, a national nonprofit that works to end youth homelessness through education, on research and policy issues to protect homeless youth during the COVID-19 crisis.

Mayer Brown lawyers across our offices also continue to step up to provide legal assistance to individuals, small businesses and nonprofit organizations devastated by the COVID-19 outbreak. In Charlotte, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington DC, our lawyers are participating in clinics and webinars to provide small business and nonprofits with legal assistance on loan, employment, contract, and commercial leasing issues that have arisen as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, and we are providing direct representation to individuals who have lost their jobs because of COVID-19 and been denied unemployment benefits. In Brazil, lawyers are conducting a webinar for civil society organizations on legislative updates related to the COVID-19 crisis. And in Hong Kong, our lawyers conducted a webinar for NGOs on managing corporate governance issues in the midst of COVID-19 and are running a remote clinic offering brief legal advice to NGOs on COVID-19 legal issues.

In keeping with the Firm's core values, we will continue our efforts to provide legal services to the most vulnerable members of our communities affected by COVID-19.
