In the June 3, 2016, Federal Register, FDA amended
the regulations for food additives permitted in feed and drinking
water of animals to provide for the safe use of chromium propionate
as a source of chromium in broiler chicken feed. This amendment was
made in response to a food additive petition filed by Kemin Industries, Inc. on
March 10, 2014. The rule was effective June 3,
2016.
