  • On September 19, the Massachusetts Attorney General filed the nation's first enforcement action against the consumer reporting agency, alleging that it failed to protect sensitive and personal information of nearly three million Massachusetts residents. The complaint alleges that, between at least March 7 through July 30, the agency left sensitive and private consumer information exposed to intruders by relying on certain computer codes that it knew or should have known were vulnerable to exploitation.
